In the evening of May 18 our speaker Joanne Rhymer will examine "The Artist's Model: Whistler and Joanna Hifferman". The questions are - Was Joanna Hifferman simply his model and lover or could she have been an essential collaborator who influenced Whistler's artistic vision, assisting him in his development of a new pictorial language?
