 10:00 am to 1:00 pm 

Location: 437 Hunter Street, Lvl 2, Newcastle (same building as Soul Hub)

 

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. There is limited street parking but we can make arrangements for drop-offs in a private carpark. There are bus stops and a light rail stop nearby.

About

The Disability Hub team is excited to announce our Accessible Travel and Holidays Workshop, running in partnership with Hunter Deafblind Connect. 

This workshop will be hosted by Carleeta Manser and Mel Schlaeger, two peers experienced in travelling and navigating accessibility in different towns, cities and countries. 

The workshop will cover things such as: 

  • Travelling with sensory disability and as a wheelchair user
  • General tips and tricks
  • Services or tools you can use to travel
  • Making a checklist before you travel
  • Work arounds when accessibility needs can't be met
  • Using a companion card
