About
ANZAC Day is marked throughout the country each year, regardless of the day on which it falls. It is a solemn day of remembrance of those soldiers who fought and died at Gallipoli in 1915.
The Gunnedah Shire has its own rich history of service and sacrifice and throughout the Anzac Centenary. Locals will remember not only the original Anzacs who served at Gallipoli and the Western Front, but commemorate and pay homage to the contribution of its own servicemen and women with a program of special events and activities.
Anzac Day Services are held in Gunnedah and in the shire villages of Tambar Springs, Curlewis and Breeza. There is a Dawn Service in Gunnedah, Tambar Springs and Curlewis.
