About
Djinda Ngardak – meaning “Albany Comes Alive Under the Stars” in Noongar language.
Prepare Produce Provide in partnerships with Tourism WA, WAITOC, Badgebup Aboriginal Corporation, Curtin, Murdoch and UWA universities, as well as local producers and suppliers present- a unique dining experience that supports and showcases Aboriginal Youth from across WA and is part of the Djinda Ngardak Culinary Program.
At the heart of this culinary program is the sharing of presentations by the regional ambassadors, a range of food masterclasses, a focus on product development using regional botanicals as well as building industry-related skills to support career pathways in the Tourism, Hospitality, agriculture and business sectors.
Under the guidance of award-winning chef Paul Iskov (chef and owner, Fervor) and high regarded chefs, the regional Aboriginal Ambassadors are given the opportunity to work closely to develop a range of dishes.
These dishes feature on the menu highlighting local Great Southern regional produce inspired by regional native ingredients. The evening's entertainment includes Aboriginal Art, Music, Dance and a fashion showcase featuring Aboriginal models and inspiring Kirrikin Fashion.
This is an evening – a celebration of life and culture. One that will connect you to the youth of the beautiful country we live on.
