About

A one-day, family-friendly flotilla at the world’s largest coal port Together, let’s get more vessels on the water of the world’s largest coal port than we’ve ever seen before! We will demand new jobs and funding for coal workers and a safe, liveable climate for everyone. Mass paddle out  Kids activities  Live music  Inspiring speeches Food Any vessel – small crafts, surfboards or boats of any size are welcome! BYO or borrow one of ours - book your spot in a kayak when you register! Why we need to take action Recently, across the Northern Hemisphere, extreme heat and fires have taken thousands of lives. In Australia, worsening droughts, fires and floods are also taking lives, destroying homes, livelihoods and communities. When burned, coal from Newcastle produces nearly 1% of carbon emissions - FROM THE ENTIRE WORLD! FROM EVERY SINGLE SOURCE! Our coal exports are a climate problem of global significance! Because, as Sir David Attenborough says: "Right now, we are facing a disaster of global scale. Our greatest threat in thousands of years. Climate change.” But the solution starts here. We need a fast, fair and fully funded transition to new jobs and industries across Newcastle and the Hunter. Are you in? Book your spot today! ?? Please note: this is not a blockade and there will be no arrests
