Margaret Jurd College Open Day

We’re inviting local families and carers to visit Margaret Jurd College in Shortland on Wednesday 28 October, and I wondered whether you’d be interested in sharing a short community news item with your readers. MJC is an independent, not-for-profit secondary school supporting young people in Years 9 to 12 who have experienced barriers to education, including school-related anxiety. Our wellbeing-first approach combines personalised learning with dedicated casework to meet students’ emotional and educational needs. We offer RoSA and HSC Non-ATAR pathways. The visit will run from 2pm to 3.30pm at 272 Sandgate Road, Shortland. Families can learn about our learning, wellbeing and extracurricular programs, with some programs demonstrated onsite. Teachers, caseworkers and learning support staff will be available to chat, and afternoon tea will be provided. Enrolment requires a formal diagnosis or a willingness to obtain one, and families can speak with our team about whether MJC could suit their young person.
