About

On selected Sundays, visitors can ride in a vintage open-ended "cowboy" carriage dating from 1890, hauled by a Stephenson Tank Engine from 1899 on a 20 minute return trip.* Other operating days (see website) see all day rides on the ever popular Steam Tram from the 1890s.* Enjoy the two operating model rooms and explore the beautifully restored locomotives and carriages from past eras. The rich story of the settlement and development of western NSW is unravelled as you understand the contribution made by the railway. Children can take the 'Kid's Quiz' and check their answers on their website, then print out a personalised certificate! New easy to read signage helps explain key exhibits to the under 10s. A World War I Honour Board commemorates local railwaymen who enlisted for the armed services. Read the stories behind these young men's lives. Enjoy some railway-style tucker and barista coffee in the air-conditioned café then browse the shop on departure. Entry prices include Museum entry and steam train or steam tram rides. *subject to change/operating conditions. Entry Cost Adult $15 Child $11 - Children under five free. Concession $13 Family $45 - Two adults and two children or one adult and three children.
