About
Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) presents parks and wreck, the second solo exhibition at MAMA for Chiltern-based Wiradjuri artist Bethany Thornber.
In a series of paintings, sculpture and installation, Thornber explores the landscape around her home, focusing on Chiltern Mount Pilot National Park.
Communicating through colour and a unique symbolic visual language, Thornber queries the process of selecting environmental areas for protection, the idea of sacredness and boundaries, common ownership and shared responsibility.
Murray Art Museum Albury has five to seven exhibitions on at any given time. A visit to the museum includes a visit to MAMA Store, featuring independent Australian designers and makers from the Murray region. Canvas Eatery is located on the ground floor of the museum, and takes in the sunny aspect of the QEII Square gardens.
MAMA is open seven days a week, and entry to the museum is always free.
