SUMMARY:Cool Kids Anxiety Program
DESCRIPTION:We are offering the evidence based Macquarie University anxiety management program for children between the ages of 7 to 12 years old.\n\nThis evidence based group therapy program is run free of charge to attending participants.\n\nThe group is facilitated by a number of provisionally registered Psychology students\, under the supervision of an experienced Senior Registered Psychologist. Please note that this program is only offered at Sydney Campus.\n\nThe program will run for 8 weeks on Tuesdays from 4pm - 5:30pm from October 13 - December 1. At least one parent/caregiver must attend.\n\nThe program covers:\n\n\n	What is anxiety and what causes it?\n	How to recognise anxiety and what is happening when anxiety is present.\n	Learning and practicing skills to face anxiety in everyday life.\n	Managing emotions connected with anxiety.\n	Building a range of coping strategies.\n\n\nOnce your attendance on the course is confirmed you will be asked to purchase a program manual. This will cost $50. Please do not purchase until advised.\n\nProspective participants may be asked to undergo a brief eligibility screening to ensure that the group aligns with their current needs and goals.\n\nIn addition to the group sessions\, we offer free individual counselling for both adults and children. This additional support is available for those interested in one-on-one sessions to complement their group experience.\n\nYou must be in Australia at the time of the group.
