About

When: Sunday 13th September 2026, 10am-11am

Where: Gindilanwari-Dunlop Microforest, Buncle Place, Dunlop (behind Woolies)

Come and give our little microforest some spring love!

Gindilanwari-Dunlop Microforest is now a bit over a year old - and the 1500 native plants have really taken off!

Join Gindilanwari-Dunlop Microforest Carers Group and Ginninderra Catchment Group for a relaxed one-hour spring clean.

We'll:

  • do a little weeding
  • check on the plants and see how they're going
  • mulch bare patches to prevent weeds
  • give this young microforest some spring TLC

No gardening experience needed. Bring the kiddos along - there's always the playground next door.

No registration needed - just turn up. We'll provide tools and gloves, but you're welcome to bring your own.

We'll have a light morning tea afterwards. And if you're making a morning of it, there's a playground (with a new toilet block!) and excellent coffee available next door.

Gindilanwari ("Joyful Place")-Dunlop Microforest was established in 2025 through an ACT Government's Nature in the City: Cooling Your Suburb grant, by the Microforest Collective. With native trees, shrubs, grasses and forbs planted across three mulched areas, the microforest is helping cool the suburb, restore habitat and create a new gathering place for the local community.

Whether you've been following the microforest since it was planted or have never seen it before, we'd love you to come and see how it's growing.

Everyone welcome!
